Biography

Ahmad Hammad works at PTV (Pakistan Television) as anchor. He’s been working with Royal TV and has interviewed prominent political, literary and intellectual figures. In addition to working at TV, he’s been anchoring a film-based radio show namely CHHAAN at FM95 Punjab Rung with renowned film writer and poet Rukhsana Noor for around 2 years; from 2010 to 2012.

ahmad-hammad-bio Academically, Hammad not only proposed, conceived, designed and developed the syllabus of eJournalism at the Graduate and Masters level for the first time in the history of Punjab University, but also now he’s teaching e-Journalism, Media Analysis, Radio Production and English Magazine Journalism at the Institute of Communication Studies, PU; Minhaj and Superior University. In 2009, he worked as executive producer PUTV.

Hammad has been being invited to pertinent fora and radio/TV shows as guest, participant and analyst.

He possesses an excellent track record of producing short films, documentaries, plays, screenplay writing, concept development, road shows, talk shows, conducting interviews and anchoring high-profiled TV and radio shows.

Over 220 hours’ appearances in the electronic media as a host and guest are to Hammad’s credit; ATV, Waqt TV, PTV—Home, PTV—News, Star-Asia TV, Such TV, Punjab TV, APNA TV, Radio Pakistan, FM-101, FM-100, FM-103, FM-104.6, FM-107.4, FM-91, FM-93, FM-95, Sargodha, Faisalabad etc…

He has been working in print media for last 20 years in different capacities including having worked as editor, contributor, feature writer and columnist.

For instance, Ahmad Hammad is the founding Editor, and has worked as Executive Editor of World Times—an English monthly that caters to the needs of military and civil bureaucracy, and worked for the journal from October 2006 to September 2007; 2012.

Hammad did his M Sc in Film and TV Production in 2010 from the Institute of Communication Studies, University of the Punjab.

In addition to master degrees in Computers and Film Making, he has done masters in Philosophy; in 2012.

He’s currently working on the final thesis eAlienation for M Phil Media Studies.

He has been working on the project feasibility for the Media University with Dr Mughees ud Din Sheikh; ex-dean faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences, University of the Punjab.

In addition to writing poetry books, he every now and then, contributes to the weekly sessions of the Halqa e Arbab e Zouq as a member by critically appreciating the writings presented over there, reading out his own poetry/essays to the sessions, and actively participating in the electoral process of the Halqa.

He has written the preface of Bushra Sheereen’s book Urdu Ghazal ka Falsafyaana Pasmanzar.

ONE book on the Contemporary Western Philosophy is also under consideration, and hopefully shall get published by the end of 2013. He’s working on Seerat un Nabi SAWW; Iqbal’s Stray Reflections; Nobel Poems etc…
